The Museum of Anthropology

Mexico is a country with a great undeniable cultural and historical heritage. There have been infinite evidences from tourists and international organizations that have made it, over the years, a recurring territory in the lists of the most visited countries in the world.
One of the most important museums full of heritage that exist in the country is undoubtedly the National Museum of Anthropology. Its exact location is Avenida de la Reforma s/n, Polanco, Bosque de Chapultepec I, Miguel de Hidalgo in Mexico City.
Its origins date back to the year 1825, when its doors opened with three collections, but in the year 1940, it was decided to build a new building to house all the historical objects from it. Finally, this was achieved in the year 1963, where you will currently find the museum.
It consists of 22 different rooms, in which you will find all kinds of statues, books, objects and much more. In addition to its temporary exhibitions, the museum has two large collections, the archaeological and the ethnographic.
Museum of Anthropology, price
The schedule to visit the interior of the National Museum of Anthropology is from Tuesday to Sunday from 9:00 in the morning to 17:00 in the afternoon. Guided tours are also organized, in small groups, from Tuesday to Saturday, from 11:00 in the morning to 13:00 in the afternoon, click here for more information about prices and availability.
The general cost for adults is 85 pesos, but Mexican citizens, people with disabilities, people over 60 years old, children under 13 years old, teachers or students, can enter the venue for free. All Mexican citizens or foreign residents in the country can also enter for free on Sundays.
You can reach it in your own vehicle, as there is parking for 20 pesos per hour. You can also take the metro, the stations closest to the museum are Museo Auditorio or Metro Chapultepec.
