The Tankah Cenote

Choose a less-frequented tourist destination away from the city’s crowds. Today we recommend visiting a Mayan community in Tulum called Parque Tankah. Will you join us?

Tankah village

Within the natural sanctuary, you’ll find this wonderful cenote called Tankah. Those looking for a journey to reconnect with themselves, away from the crowds, and enjoy nature have found their place.

This remote setting within the Riviera Maya is one of the most wonderful places you’ll ever visit. The cenote’s almost transparent blue waters, combined with the surrounding vegetation, invite you to truly relax and enjoy the moment.

One of the phenomena that occurs in the cenote is the union of the cold sea water with the fresh water of the lagoon, forming currents. Here and in the lagoon, you can practice various water sports and activities such as paddleboarding and scuba diving.

Tankah Park

The Tankah Park team couldn’t maintain the area without being fully aware of the environment, fostering cultural identity, and offering the best services. There are also specialized guides in the area who will explain everything about the cenote, the vegetation, and/or Mayan culture.

Tankah Park is located on Federal Highway 307 in Tulum, and admission for adults costs approximately 300 Mexican pesos. The most impressive tour you can take is an expedition through the Mayan jungle, a visit to the Tankah cenote, and meeting the Mayan villagers.

It is recommended to bring cash to pay for the various services available. Also, bring swim wear, a change of clothes and a towel, biodegradable mosquito repellent, hats, and sunscreen.

Tankah Beach

In addition to the park and the cenote, you can also visit the wonderful Tankah Beach. Like many other beaches in the Caribbean Sea, this beach boasts clear turquoise waters and white sand. It was formed by the confluence of several underground rivers in contact with the Caribbean Sea.

This beach is perfect for enjoying with children, as there are hardly any waves and it’s one of the quietest beaches in the area. While they enjoy splashing in the water, you can soak up the Caribbean sun or walk along the coast while observing your surroundings. You can also book other activities available in the area, such as kayaking, snorkeling, or scuba diving.

Lodging Nearby

After seeing Tankah Park and the wonders within, we suggest a new nearby tourist destination to continue enjoying Mexico’s natural attractions: Cancún. At the Oasis hotel chain in Cancún, you can stay in all-inclusive resorts with incredible exclusive services.
