Sustainability at Oasis
Traveling allows us to discover and enjoy new places, but it also entails caring for the environment that welcomes us.
At Oasis Hotels & Resorts, we strive to make our operations increasingly responsible toward the environment and the communities we are part of. That is why we work on the responsible use of resources, the care of our ecosystems, and the development of our community.
We know that this is a process of continuous improvement requiring everyone’s participation: collaborators, guests, suppliers, and community.
Why Does Sustainability Matter to Us?
For Oasis Hotels & Resorts, sustainability is part of the way we seek to operate and make decisions responsibly.
Our work focuses on:
- Efficiently managing energy, water, and waste.
- Reducing our environmental impact.
- Strengthening our social responsibility.
- Complying with applicable standards and legislation.
- Contributing to sustainable tourism.
- Maintaining a culture of continuous improvement.
- Generating benefits for our communities, our environment, and our guests.
Our Commitment
“To decrease the environmental impact generated, through the optimal use of energy and natural resources associated with the provision of services at Oasis Hotels & Resorts, by complying with standards and programs that prevent, reduce, and mitigate key impacts on the environment and community, fully abiding by current and applicable legislation to our operations, as well as international best practices in order to achieve continuous improvement that allows us to reach sustainable development.â€

Our Environmental Management
We work across different aspects of our operation to make responsible use of resources and reduce our impact on the environment.
Water
We work to make responsible and efficient use of water without affecting our guests’ comfort.
Among the actions we take are:
- Optimizing water consumption throughout our facilities.
- Replacing older equipment with more efficient alternatives.
- Installing aerators, water-saving faucets, and ecological toilets.
- Reporting and tracking leaks through an app until full repair and closure.

Energy and Emissions
We seek to use energy more efficiently in our operation through actions such as air conditioning optimization, using efficient temperatures, preventive maintenance of equipment, LED lighting, and low-consumption equipment.
Waste
Giving a new life to our organic waste
Oasis Hotels & Resorts has the first organic waste utilization facility in Quintana Roo endorsed by the Ministry of the Environment (SEMA), where between 15 and 20 tons of organic waste generated in our hotels are received daily.
Within this facility, organic matter recovery processes are utilized, including vermicomposting, as part of our waste management.

Responsible Consumption
We also seek to incorporate environmental and social criteria into purchasing decisions and the products we use daily.
Currently:
- 100% of the perishable products we purchase are locally sourced.
- 97% of our suppliers and contractors are local.
- 100% of acquired products are Mexican.
- Over 80% of the chemical products we use have a lower environmental impact.
- We acquire paper products with eco-labels.
- We promote the consumption of local products, businesses, and services among our guests.

Ecosystems and Biodiversity
The natural environment is part of the experience of our destinations in Cancun, and caring for it requires continuous actions.

- Sea Turtle Protection
Since 2012, we have participated in sea turtle protection and conservation actions, contributing to the care of this species and coastal ecosystems in our destinations.

- Beach Cleanups
Once a month, team members from different departments participate as volunteers in beach cleanup days.
In addition to removing waste from the environment, these activities help raise awareness about the care of our beaches and ecosystems.
Our Social Responsibility
Our commitment also includes the people and communities that form part of our surroundings.
Through Fundación Oasis, we develop various support actions both for our team members and their families, as well as for the community.
One of our main programs is Cambiando Vidas (“Changing Lives”), created to provide support to team members and their relatives in areas related to health, treatments, and education.
We also participate in donations and diverse initiatives that seek to address community needs and causes.

A Culture of Sustainability
Sustainability also depends on the decisions we make every day.
Therefore, we strive to ensure that collaborators and guests are aware of the actions we carry out and the importance of caring for our resources, respecting the environment, and adopting more responsible practices.
Through campaigns, activities, and different communication channels, we work to keep these topics present both in our operations and throughout our guests’ experience.
Certifications and Compliance
As part of our improvement process, we participate in external assessments that help us evaluate our performance, identify opportunities, and reinforce our practices.
EarthCheck Bronze Benchmarked 2026
The Pyramid Cancun and The Grand Oasis Cancun currently hold the EarthCheck Bronze Benchmarked 2026 recognition.
This recognition evaluates various aspects of our operations, including water and energy consumption, greenhouse gas emissions, waste management, and social aspects.
EcoCheck
Several Oasis Hotels & Resorts properties also hold EcoCheck, an environmental evaluation program by Intertek Cristal that audits environmental practices and systems implemented in hotel operations.
Our Progress
Results allow us to evaluate the reach of our actions and continue identifying opportunities for improvement.

During 2025, our properties The Pyramid Cancún and The Grand Oasis Cancún registered between 16.2 and 17.5 kg of CO₂ equivalent per guest-night, achieving a favorable performance compared to the regional average.

You Are Also Part of the Change
During your stay, you can also help us protect the destination we share.
These are simple actions that make a real difference:
- Respect local culture, customs, and traditions.
- Protect flora and fauna; avoid touching, feeding, or disturbing wildlife.
- Do not collect shells, corals, plants, or other natural elements.
- Where indicated, avoid using sunscreens, lotions, or products that could harm the ecosystem.
- Use water and energy consciously.
- If you have the option, reuse your towels and linens to help us reduce water, energy, and detergent consumption.
- Turn off lights and air conditioning when leaving your room.
- Dispose of your waste in designated bins and avoid leaving it on beaches or natural areas.
- Respect signage and designated pathways established to protect fragile areas.
- Whenever you have the chance, discover and support local products, experiences, shops, and services.
Enjoying a destination also means respecting it and helping preserve it.
