Much better than all those reviews I read and scared me before the trip
So, I booked a room with The Pyramid, which offer you more variable restaurants that are not too crowded and adults only. It is true, their rooms suck....dated, clearly old, need complete renovation and upgrade for rates they offer. There were several issues with my room, no hot water (I mean, lukewarm, not hot enough for Japanese person to take a shower if I may say), safety deposit box was broken, there were bottled beers mini bar fridge but no bottle opener (the bottle was not easy-to-open with your hand type). My second night, it rained, and I found water on floor came from glass doors of balcony in next morning. I reported those issues to the concierge desk where they probably one at each 5 buildings. Beside of water on floor issue, everything was fixed as requested and within the same day. Hotel workers, every single person I encountered was very helpful and well-mannered with respect. For The pyramid guests restaurants, I am very impressed of uniqueness of selection. Yes they have so many choices. There is one very interesting restaurant called BENAZUZA, I don't understand what it is but their cuisine is said as techno-emotional, they give short presentation of cocktails along with one-bite size appetizer at the beginning of the course, and follow by all creative fixed course dishes, I highly recommend to book this restaurant. While someone somewhere mentioned that it was almost impossible to reserve a la carte restaurant, but in my case, it went quite easy a day before, probably because I was sola and wanted all early evening starting from 18:00-18:30. But if you are two persons, it will probably the same like my case. I downloaded their Apps and did made restaurant bookings. While doing that, a chat person popped up in Apps and assisted me then completed all my restaurant bookings for next three nights. And I must mention, in the evening shows at El Zocalo outdoor stage, all dancing shows from Caribe, all Mexican Traditions, and all Live Bands they hire to play are AWESOME!! I love all latino people come out and dance the night out!! Very lively and friendly hotel guests, we become all family, so much FUN!!

**Malo** *La comida. Loved this resort!
My family stayed at the Grand Pyramid Oasis for 5 nights during spring break week this year. I am so glad that we chose this hotel as we had a fabulous time! We booked this vacation through Jetblue vacations so I don't know if you get to pick which building you are in if you book directly thru the hotel but would strongly recommend staying in the main building (Sian Ka'an) . We had 2 rooms booked and both were fabulous but be aware that it is very loud at night (esp during spring break) as doors close and the sounds carry/echo. Our rooms were very clean and housekeeping came daily to clean the rooms and they were restocked with water/beer/snacks. The only thing they didn't restock was our beach towels which were wet on day 3 so we left them on the floor and they were taken

Truthful Canadian Review (with recommendations)
After reading lots and lots of negative reviews, my wife and I were a little worried after booking this resort. We just got back yesterday after being there for a week. We were shocked about how positive our experience was and how there could be so many negative reviews. I think sometimes we forget that these counties don’t always have access to the same amenities as we do. Chairs can be hard to get if you come down later then 9-10am, we usually were up around 7:30 and had our selection of whatever chairs we wanted. Food was pretty good, restaurants (Sakura, Careyes, Dos Luna) were all excellent. We had very little trouble booking these (we booked them all on the first full day we had for later in the week) Marketplace Buffet for Breakfast and Dinner was good as well. Only negative we had was the Tatish Buffet had little options and had a weird smell as we walked in. Bites was also very good for lunch. All the staff were very pleasant, quick getting drinks and anything you needed. Our fridge worked fine and was always full of cold drinks and a small selection of snacks. Coffee and Me The Pyramid makes a great Hot/Cold/Frozen Tiramisu Coffee and the chocolate croissants are amazing. The resort does show some aging, broken tiles on walkways and in the pool, some corners could be cleaned better but every morning we saw the pool, ponds, walkways all being cleaned. Our room was always cleaned on time and staff came multiple times to fill our fridge or ask if we needed more towels if required. We do recommend staying in the Pyramid (Black Bands) for at least the Marketplace Buffet instead of the other 2 Buffets and the better selection of restaurants. The lines can sometimes be long for drinks especially on the party side at the Bar and Swim Up Bar (but never more then 5-10mins) The resort is large and has a fair amount of stairs if you stay at the Pyramid but never bothered us. We usually chose to walk up the outside stairs to our room rather than take the elevator. If you get sucked into the Membership (Time Share) 90 minutes speech. I hope you get Adrian as the Sales guy. He was absolutely hilarious and made it so much fun. The beach is beautiful, and the water was really warm when we went. Pool water is cold, but as expected. A warm pool would be weird, and not refreshing in the heat. We would 1000% come back without issues.

Rent a cabana at Cocoa beach club!!
This is our second trip to the Pyramid and it did not disappoint. The food is good and the selection is much better than other resorts. The hotel is aging but the staff keeps it well maintained and extremely clean. This trip we opted to reserve a private cabana by the pool and on the beach at the Cocoa beach club. I would highly recommended this and make sure you ask for Jose for your server. Jose went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of, even if we were not in his section. The entire staff at cocoa beach club was great but Jose was even more excellent!! We would highly recommend this hotel if you are willing to spend the money for the upgraded rooms and the private beds at cocoa beach club!! Make sure you ask for Jose!!

This is a place u can have a new time each time
Well for my 22nd or more times coming to this great Resort it still gets better every time. The bell men make us feel like you are at home. This resort has 4 of the best concierges in all of Cancun, Robin, Carlos, Tristan, and at nite Oscar. If u have the blue band see how much it would cost to upgrade to the Black. It lets u get into Kinky's LaBuffet, and Careyes. The gym here is awesome, pool is great with swim up bars at both ends. They have bands or Dj's at nites. In the Pyramid they have neat shows most every nite. Blk bands get u into bar Fontainbleau great drinks and entertainment . All of the resturants are very good, and service over the top. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Remember ask if u need some help. Kinkys has great shows, and across from it is a very good Japanese resturant.
