Deserts in Mexico
Dejando a un lado las vacaciones más cómodas, te proponemos una aventura sin precedentes para que conozcas los desiertos más importantes de México, desde el Desierto de Chihuahua hasta el Desierto de Sonora, aquí encontrarás mucha información.
Chihuahuan Desert
This Mexican desert is considered the largest in North America, and its location is shared between Mexico and the United States. In addition, given its impressive size, it is part of different states, such as Texas, Arizona, Chihuahua or San Luis Potosi.
Despite what you may believe, the more than 600,000 square kilometers of the Chihuahuan Desert are home to great plant and animal life: there are more than 400 species inhabiting its interior, some of which are only found here.
The temperature is very variable, since throughout the day it can reach more than 40 degrees, but at nightfall or in the winter season, the temperature drops extremely low and large storms originate.
It is also important to know that it is an area rich in lakes, rivers and streams. In its waters live many marine species that due to climate change, the water crisis, as well as other equally serious issues, are in danger of extinction or low growth.

The Altar Desert is also one of the most biodiverse deserts. Its great attraction lies in the dunes that make it up, as they have very curious shapes that resemble stars. Since 2016 it has been considered a natural Biosphere Reserve.
The Baja California Desert has been inhabited by several indigenous tribes despite being one of the most desert-like areas known. Dentro del mismo se encuentra la Reserva de la Biosfera Alto Golfo de California y Delta del Río Colorado.
