Tourists who want to get around Mexico’s immense capital city will be thinking that it will be more comfortable to travel by subway from one place to another during their visit. In order to know the lines that exist and the different delegations of the city, travelers will find relevant information in the following lines.

  1. Line 1 red color: Indios verdes – Camionero (46 stops)
  2. Line 2 purple: Tepalcates – Tacubaya (36 stops)
  3. Línea 3 color verde: Tenayuca – Pueblo Sta. Cruz Atoyac (37 stops)
  4. Line 4 orange: Buenavista – Plaza de la Republica (32 stops)
  5. Line 5 blue color: Río de los Remedios – DIF Xochimilco (51 stops)
  6. Line 6 pink: El Rosario – Villa Aragón (33 stops)
  7. Line 7 dark green: Campo Marte – Indios Verdes (31 stops)

The Mexico City subway is divided into several lines, specifically seven different lines. In each one of them there are stops with unique meanings and depending on each station, it is possible to change from one line to another.

The available transfers last only two hours, and it is between metro lines. The different transfers can be made on almost all lines, and of course, it is advisable to carry a subway map with you to guide you.

There are different schedules depending on the chosen service: the metrobus is from Monday to Friday from 4:30 a.m. to midnight, while on Sundays and holidays it is at 5:00. The STC subway has a schedule from 5:00 a.m. to midnight every day of the week, with Saturday service starting at 6:00 a.m. and Sunday service starting at 7:00 a.m.

Then there is the light rail, which starts at 5:00 and ends at 23:30 every day, except Saturday which starts at 6:00 and Sunday an hour later. There is also the trolleybus, whose schedule from Monday to Friday is from 5:00 to 00:00, except on Sundays when it starts one hour later.

We continue with the Cablebus, a service available Monday through Friday from 5:00 to 23:00 Saturdays and Sundays one hour later. We continue with the RTP service, from Monday to Saturday available from 5:00 to 1:00 and on Sunday half an hour before and one hour after. The ecobici service is available every day of the week from 5:00 to 00:30.

Finally we have the suburban train, every day it ends at 00:30 and starts at 5:00, 6:00 or 7:00 depending on whether it is a weekday, Saturday or Sunday respectively.
