If you are traveling in the Huasteca Potosina you are probably making your list of next tourist attractions to visit between breaks and delicious meals. For those who want information before contracting any tour, we hope you will find here some hints of what you are looking for.

El Meco Ecotourism Park

El Meco Ecotourism Park is one of the most beautiful you can find in the area. It is perfect for those who love to enjoy nature, away from the hustle and bustle of the city and large crowds.

It is located within El Naranjo Ecotourism Park and the area or community is called El Meco. It is a little far from the capital, more than 250 kilometers away. This is the reason why you will not find many people visiting this place, since only a few will really enjoy it.

The river that bathes the park is a beautiful turquoise color, almost inviting you to spend hours and hours swimming. This is perfect for children to play, as its waters are calm and shallow. Adults will also be able to enjoy without problems because there are deeper waters to dive without problems.

El Meco Waterfalls San luis Potosi

The waterfalls and the Salto del Meco waterfall are worthy of brave adventurers who want a day full of adrenaline. The fall is estimated at more than 35 meters high, which is located in the middle of nature. You can take pictures from the lookout point, just before the main fall.

If heights are not your thing, we also recommend you to walk a little upstream and stay in the wonderful natural pools while you relax. There you can rest from your hikes or recover from all the emotions you experience during your excursion.

The inhabitants of the community organize tours and excursions so that you can make the most of your visit. For example, water activities are the order of the day: kayaks and boats are waiting for you to explore the river in an even more special way.

El Meco Huasteca Potosina

We recommend a visit to La Huasteca Potosina, located in the state of San Luis de Potosi, which is made up of 20 municipalities. This is a region where you can find beautiful natural landscapes full of trees, rivers and diverse fauna, as well as desert ecosystems; a magical contrast found in the same territory.

The Huasteca Potosina has many unique tourist attractions in Mexico. After visiting El Naranjo Ecotourism Park, taking great pictures of its landscapes and swimming in the pools or in the river, we offer you even more plans.

For example, you have the waterfalls of Tamul, Micos or Tamasopo, incredible natural formations that you will not find anywhere else nearby. In addition, there are other even more picturesque destinations, such as the surrealist garden of Edward James.
