Archaeological sites of Teotihuacan
Todo aquello que puedes visitar en la zona arqueológica de Teotihuacán es obra de una de las sociedades más importantes de Mesoamérica. Such is its greatness that in 1987 it was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
The citadel is one of the places you will visit during your stay at the site, as well as the Temple of the Feathered Serpent, the Road of the Dead and many other attractions.
The third largest building is the Pyramid of the Feathered Serpent (or temple), a construction decorated with serpent-shaped bodies representing the god.
The Causeway of the Dead is present throughout the site, as it connects both the Citadel and the Pyramid of the Moon, two important constructions that were the nerve center of the ancient city.
Teotihuacan: the Pyramid of the Sun
The Pyramid of the Sun may be the best known of all the geometrically shaped buildings in Teotihuacan. It has a height of more than 60 meters, which even became higher because it was crowned by a sanctuary where religious rites were celebrated.
It has a staircase of no less than 260 steps, and on its sides there are numerous stone blocks that make 20 levels in total. Inside the pyramid there is a cave of which the meaning has not yet been ascertained, although there are suppositions about it.
